Now that Election Day is less than 100 days away, a major upswing of relevant fashions has been taking place, all of which rally behind one call-to – action: vote. From tees to necklaces, athletic trends have become the most popular faces of today, urging voter turnout in the forthcoming presidential election. The first to do so was Michelle Obama, whose necklace “VOTE,” which made a glimmering debut at the Democratic National Convention last night. Better part? The style is still in stock — so you can shop it, too, to get the word out.
The sartorial decisions made by Obama have long been revered for their ability to express a broader message than a pattern in cut or colour. She championed emerging American designers in the white house including Jason Wu, Zac Posen and Thakoon. On Aug. 18, via the interactive meeting, the former first lady talked to millions worldwide, dressing up a mocha-hued Nanushka top with elegant, delicate jewellery. In addition to slender, oversized hoops, Obama wore BYCHARI ‘s letter necklace, which she had custom-made with one key word: “vote.” Speaking about the significance of national empathy and how its loss could impact future generations, her minimalist jewelry strand was the perfect piece to amplify her message.
The necklace is currently available on BYCHARI ‘s site for $295, with options to choose from in white, rose, and yellow gold (14 K and 18 K). “I had created a VOTE necklace for the last election and knew I was going to do it again,” Chari Cuthbert, BYCHARI’s Designer & Creative Director, revealed in an official brand statement. “As we started our outreach, I was honored when Michelle Obama’s Stylist asked for one and am thrilled she is wearing it!”
While the jewelry is still in stock, it will potentially sell out in a flash — but not worry. There are lots of common models all promoting the same civic practice. Take , for example, the collaborative necklace of Stella and Bow with I Am A Voter which has been worn to Ashley Benson by celebrities from Chelsea Handler. Or, Babygold (a favorite of Khloe Kardashian) has a diamond letter necklace which is almost a dupe of Obama’s, which you can have made with the word “VOTE.”
