It doesn’t take long to learn that finding a look that is as practical and quick as trendy is challenging when you’re in a hurry to do your hair. There are few hairstyles that can be branded as such, but there is one guaranteed option — one that has been proven time and time again by Meghan Markle is a fail-proof solution when you’re lack of ideas. From its frequent appearances, you might have guessed that Meghan Markle ‘s low ponytail would be the solution to your hair woes.
This look has recently dropped once again, cementing itself as one of the most popular hairstyles to date. The ponytail ‘s debut came during a video call to celebrate The Smart Set Capsule Collection’s one-year anniversary, a partnership between the charity Smart Works and Markle that helps their client base of women seeking job opportunities.
She had it pulled back into her classically low-slung look for this particular occasion but flicked her hair length over her left shoulder. Low ponytails like this are an eternally chic go-to for all purposes and Markle is one celebrity who relies on the look consistently.
On Markle in March this same chic ‘do was last seen, where she paired it with a beautiful azure blue dress. Unsurprisingly it was quickly described as an unforgettable moment that will certainly go down in the history of royal design.
But during this particular call, her signature ponytail was but one aspect of her impeccable ensemble. With lined eyebrows and her classic brown smoky eye, Markle’s makeup was superb too. She also wore a pink blush flush and a glossy rosy nude lip color. She settled on a clean white blazer and rosy brown top for her ensemble, both well-suited for talking.

One year ago, Smart Works announced the launch of The Smart Set Capsule Collection with The Duchess of Sussex. ⠀ The collection was designed to create a perfect working wardrobe for Smart Works clients. ⠀ With over 3,000 clients coming to Smart Works in the last year and 1,000 women taking pieces, the collection has proved to be invaluable. ⠀ In particular it has played an important role in ensuring the success of the new virtual service which was launched as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. ⠀ To celebrate the first anniversary, The Duchess of Sussex sat down to speak to Karla, Charlene and Agnieszka, three previous clients, to see how their time at Smart Works has helped transform their lives. ⠀ After listening to their stories, The Duchess of Sussex said, “People can say that so much of smart works is about the clothes themselves but it's really not … all of that stuff is the exterior but it's what it does for you on the inside that ends up being the best accessory. It’s the confidence, it's what is built within, that is the piece that you walk out of that room with and walk into the interview with.” ⠀ Thank you to everyone to bought a piece of the collection and the retailers who made it possible @marksandspencerfashionpr @johnlewisandpartners , @insidejigsaw and @mishanonoo . ⠀ To find out more and hear from our clients and CEO head to the link in our bio.
During the virtual conference, Markle talked to people who were profoundly influenced by Smart Works, an agency that offers interview apparel and training in underserved neighborhoods for the unemployed women. They reviewed their stories as well as the value of the confidence one can earn from a look in which they feel great — something Markle definitely mastered.
