It’s been 15 years since Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt were a couple, but the two continue to make headlines somehow, even today. Most recently, while engaging in a live virtual table reading of Quick Times at Ridgemont High, the exes made headlines. And while a seemingly “flirty” conversation between the two had people talking, during the unrehearsed incident, true fans of the Friends star concentrated on Jennifer Aniston ‘s glasses and overall look.
A variety of famous faces, including Julia Roberts, Matthew McConaughey, and Morgan Freeman, were included in the epic reenactment, orchestrated by Dane Cook. It was Hollywood ‘s former golden couple, however, who stole the Zoom display. Aniston made an otherwise casual look oh-so chic as she read the role of Linda Barrett, who was played by Phoebe Cates in the 1982 movie. Some retro eyeglasses that looked very fitting for the throwback movie theme complemented her denim vest top and bandana collar adornment. And though her ensemble was reading in the ’80s, the hair of the actor was classic Aniston, worn straight and just slightly tousled. Ultimately, the look was presumably supposed to be a play on the identity of her character, but the eyeglasses lent a new and enjoyable retro vibe that can be completely recreated with any fall outfit.
Yeah, the star of the Morning Show was and is the epitome of cool, and even when the table reading took what might have been an uncomfortable turn, she kept that composure. Pitt actually blushed during the exchange when it came time for Pitt (who read the role of Brad Hamilton, originally played by Judge Reinhold) and Aniston to recreate the famous movie scene in which Brad dreams of Linda seducing him as she steps out of his backyard pool, while his ex stayed nonchalant and cool. “Hi, Brad,” Aniston said in character, changing into a red bikini top over a white tank. “You know how cute I always thought you were. I think you’re so sexy. Will you come to me?”
This is not the first time an innocent and accidental moment has made headlines for the former couple. Do you remember the 2020 Screen Actor’s Guild Awards, when the two had that brief hand-holding conversation, and the news practically exploded with social media feeds? Yeah, it seems like the universe is still grieving the disintegration of these two super stars jointly, and not-so-secretly hoping for a reconciliation. Virtual moments like this will have to suffice in the meantime.
For those with feet firmly planted in reality who were more interested in Aniston’s retro eyewear than the exchange, ahead, shop some similar styles that’ll have you channeling the Friends star.
