Manicures are now at the stage where they’ve seen better days * definitely *, which means it’s probably eventually time to take out your nail kit and attack those chips once and for all. But if as of late you’ve been overwhelmed with nails thoughts, you may need some fresh inspo to motivate your next manicure. And while you may have written off the middle Kardashian sister as the queen of nothing but neutrals, Kim Kardashian’s favorite nail polish colors are, in fact, quite a number of shades worth copying.
Kardashian is a chameleon style, and while her makeup usually revolves around a palette of nude colours, she appears to play in many ways with colour. Look at any shot of red-carpet appearance, Insta video, or street style and it’s easy to see that she isn’t afraid of following trends that other people will run away.
But except for those occasional dips into wild designs, if you look closely you can see that, indeed, neutrals are still a recurring pattern of color which she continues in her manicures. She’s unpredictable but that’s what drives her so well. A look back, in the past, at the colors Kardashian has put on.
For Kardashian, Nude is a major ongoing color palette and pattern whether she wears it out of her closet or launches a new product in beige packaging. Her nails are no exception, and in many of her pictures you can see a variety of minimal colors, such as pinkish-tan, beiges and taupes, on her nails.
If you think about your go-to color, it certainly isn’t yellow nail polish. The hue is hard to match with any outfit and the wrong version may look strange rather than cool in the ’80s. Yet the reality star’s chosen highlighter shade reveals that every color can be a Kardashian color.
This whisper pink that Kardashian wore to the 2019 Innovator Awards WSJ Magazine is one of the occasions she’s been working on this colour. Zoom closely on a number of paparazzi pics, and you’ll see light pink for her as an easy go-to.
Although white nails are a common summer colour, they can often seem a little dull — but extra-long square-tipped white nails take them to a different level. Not to mention, these really fit in with the 2018 CFDA Fashion Awards Grecian goddess vibe Kardashian had been going on.
Matte, and sometimes shiny, finishes are usually what you can see on Kardashian’s nails, but not so much glitter. Here Bachik used the nails of Kardashian as a backdrop to show that glitter is not only reserved for lavish manicures of winter and holiday.
